Day of Fun

Tom worked for nearly a month straight without a moment to relax.  He was supposed to have Friday so on Monday he told he told me to get all of Ally's school done by Thursday night.  He also told Aden he didn't have to go to school that Friday so that we could finally spend some time together.  Well, by Wednesday things had changed and he did have to work on Friday.  So, Friday I got Aden up early and tried to get him ready for school but of course, he remembered that his dad said that he didn't have to go.  So he grabbed the blankets pulled them over his head and went back to sleep.  I wasn't in the mood to argue so I got in bed with him and we slept for another hour.

Once everyone was up, we had yummy smoothies (my kids are green smoothie junkies).  We played outside, watched a movie, and got creative with the play-dough.  Ally and Aden even made some "forts" outside.  Then we were off to drop off dinner at a friend's house.  After that, the kids got to have a sleep-over at Grammy's house!  The kids had a much deserved day of fun.  It makes me miss summer and want to cherish each weekend.

We did finally get a day off with Dad on Saturday!
