Week in Review July 1-7, 2012

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I think that means I don't have to type as much!  So here is goes.....this is our week in review with pictures.

Monday we spent the afternoon at the pool with Jen and Jeremy in Henderson.  After baking in the sun for a few hours we went to Grammy and Grandpa's house for an early 4th of July BBQ.  We had the best hamburgers and tons of other great food.  We watch Jeep videos and started planning the scary trails we are going to do next year in Moab.

I was working a fire work booth on Monday night.  Mike came to visit me and when he did a cute dog came to hang out with us.  It was thirsty and alone so we gave it some water, fashioned a leash, and held onto it the rest of my shift.  I drove it home to my house where it stayed the night.
The next day, the kids and I took it to the vet where they were able to scan it's chip, find out that it was a he and his name was Wheeler, and that his owners were worried sick about him.  I talked to one of the owners on the phone and he was very grateful that we had taken such good care of Wheeler.

Naturally, the kids wanted to keep the dog and were a little bummed when we found the owner.  To take their minds off things, we went to lunch at Chili's.

And got a little silly!

Then we came home and got to work on our 4th of July T-shirts!  This counted as two items on our summer bucket list.  One was do a messy craft and another was find a craft online and make it.

Here is my final product.

4th of July inspired me to wear red lip stick.  I couldn't resist leaving my mark on Tom.

This is Aviana and this is her sexy-ugly face.

The weather on the 4th was amazing.  Cloudy, cool, and a bit of rain.  The rain didn't stop my sister-in-law Kim from stripping down to her underwear and jumping into her pool!

After the rain stopped, the whole family got in on the fun (wearing bathing suits of course).  This is Tom doing a back flip.

Then it was Aviana and Ally's turn to jump.

I couldn't be that close to the pool and not try out my water proof iphone case.  I guess I need to work on my aim and focus.

After lunch at Kim and Dave's house, we headed to Mike and Jen's for dinner and fireworks.  They had enough pizza and drinks for the whole block!  Not to mention over $300 in fireworks.

Mike was being a fabulous uncle and spent a ton of money at the firework booth I volunteered at.  The money earned from the fireworks helps support the non-profit organization called SignDesign.  Ally is apart of the theater program which is for deaf, hearing impaired, and hearing children.

Here is the disgustingly cute Jen snapping photos.

It was sooooo fun do light fireworks in the street!!!  I hadn't done it in over 12 years because I usually play a concert on the 4th.  It was great to have the year off and spend it with the family.

My iphone did okay but Mike took some incredible photos.  I hope he will share so I can post some of his work.
Also, Glenn and Diane came to watch the fireworks with us.  I love when they join us for family events.  My kids refer to them as Aunt and Uncle! :)

Ally, myself, and Aden in our 4th of July shirts.

After the excitement was over, we said our good-byes and thank you and made the long drive home.  Ally and Aden decided to make it a sleep-over in Ally's room.  They were being very sweet and kind.  I was a great 4th of July thanks to great family!!!

The next few days were a little boring.  Here is our big fat man cat Twinkle.  Ally might throw out her back trying to lift him!

Then as we were folding laundry one night, Ally said under her breath "Ah, my arch enemy...the turtle neck".  She didn't think anyone was listening but Aden and I almost died laughing.

Friday night was a summer bucket list blow-out!  We did blind folded make-up.  Aden was a good sport!

We got a little silly and turned Ally into a Alien war princess.

We were all laughing so hard that it wouldn't of matter if we were blind folded or not the make-up still would have been awful.

Then we did a pots and pan band which quickly turned into a full length infomercial for FANPANS.  See another post labeled FANPANS.

Then we had a paper airplane contest.  We each had 15mins to construct our and decorate our planes.  Aden had the best designs.  Ally had the most wicked curve.  And I had the longest float time.

Last but not least was a indoor obstacle course complete with moving targets, challenges and more.  We ran around and tried to complete the course with the best time.  Aden was the winner with 1:39sec

Saturday morning was a bit rough for Ally.  I guess all the fun the night before wore her out.  But she got up and both kids did their practicing before Ally's dad came to get her.  He took her to see a movie and Aden had his friend Zach over to play.

Once Ally was home, we all got in the car to run errands.  Right next to the music store we went to was a brand new Laser Tag place.  It was the grand opening and they had $5 games so we decided to give it a try.

Ally and I were a bit scared at first but Aden was ready to go.

We all loved the first round which lasted 20mins so we bought two more games and unsuccessfully tried to get Mike, Jen, and Jer to join us.

The inside of the Laser Tag place was a two story destroyed city.  I wish my iphone camera would have been able to capture how cool this place was.

We have been trying to do a better job at not eating out on Sundays so we went to Smiths for groceries for the next day.  None of us could resist Golden Spoon!!!  Plus that was another summer bucket list item: pig out on FroYo and that is just what we did!

We had a great week but we missed Tom a lot.  He spent most of 4th of July with us but we really haven't seen him.  Another big Switch deadline....
Hopefully he will be with us more after the 10th
I guess that is all for now.  I hope next week is just as much fun!
