Ally wins ZYS audition!!

Ally auditioned for a spot (1 of 3) in the Zion's Youth Symphony and won!!  We are especially proud because she is only 12 and technically you need to be 14 years old to be apart of the orchestra.  I'm sure the concert on March 10th will be an amazing experience for the young musicians and the audience.

Phone time with Dad

I just spent 30 minutes on the phone with my Dad. Why is this blog worthy??? Up until about a year and a half ago we never really talked much. Don't get me wrong!  He has always been a great father. He is super supportive and I always have known that he is there for me. But now that we have a few hobbies in common, he is down right fun. Or maybe I'm finally fun. Either way, it is awesome to be able to share our excitement about Jeeping and Ham radio. I could almost say that I was the son he never had but he has a son and he is pretty rad too. I guess that makes me the second son he never had!  :).

Our first RV trip - Pahrump

Tom and I wanted to "test run" the RV on a quick over night trip.  Thanks to the kind couple next to us at the RV park in Pahrump it was a success!  We stayed warm and had a lot of fun.

Aden had a blast riding on the cab over bed while looking out the window.  Totally illegal but a great way to view Red Rock.  :)

Tom had internet access and a work station set up.  Actually, he installed a flat screen TV before we ever left Las Vegas.  He can't get too far away from his beloved technology.

The RV park was really pretty considering we were in Pahrump.  They have pond, row boats, paddle boats, heated pool/spa, play ground, and nice big spaces.

Aden LOVED the playground!  Next time we go, we MUST stay in a space right on the park.

In efforts to get everything organized and labeled, I got a little carried away with the label machine.  Now Tom has a sign that reads PROPERTY OF MELANIE SCHIEMER.

I hope this is the first of MANY fun adventures!!

Our NEWish RV!!!!

We are the proud owners of a brand newish 1998 Class C Gulf Stream Conquest motor home.  After looking and saving for a few years, we finally have the perfect rig.  Our new tent on wheels will tow the Jeep, keep us warm and cool during camping, and surely help us create a ton of fun family memories.

Tom and I drove to Salt Lake to pick it up and it was pretty cold!!
-8 degrees is a bit too cold for my taste.

The next morning we went to the dealership and check out the RV.  After several hours of inspection and learning how to work everything, we decided it had to be ours.

We love the cab over bed and window.  The kids will have a lot of fun with that area!

Having a fridge will be soooo nice when we go camping!

We even got a brand new mattress for Tom and I in the back bedroom.

Best of all it only has 23,000 miles on it and is in really amazing condition! So, we wrote the check and it was ours!!

Tom and I took turn driving it home.  Looks pretty good up there in the distance!!

I am so grateful to have a husband the is willing to go along with all my crazy ideas!  Our little family will have a blast going on many adventures over the next several years!!

Aden the scientist!

I bought Aden a science kit at Hobby Lobby that helps teach how electrical current works.  He LOVES it!!!!  He is trying all sorts of ways to get the light bulb to light up.  Now, he wants to get all the other kits in the same series and is even talking about a science themed birthday party!
